Chico State’s Iresh Molina has captured another CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, this time for the week of Sept. 23-29.

Molina was the top CCAA finisher at the Bill Roe Classic in Bellingham, Wash. as she led the No. 12 ranked Wildcats to an impressive second place team finish in the meet won by host Western Washington. WWU, ranked 11th, edged Chico State 62-58. No. 20 Alaska finished third on Saturday.

Molina, a junior from Chico, clocked in at 20:47.6, behind only two club runners and two athletes from Alaska Fairbanks. Iresh finished ahead of twin sister Della by nearly three seconds this time (20:50.2). 

This is Iresh’s second CCAA Runner of the Week honor. She shared the weekly award with Della two weeks ago when they crossed the finish line hand-in-hand.

Next on the schedule for Chico State is the San Francisco State Invitational on Oct. 11 at Golden Gate Park.
