With a pair of shutouts, Cal Poly Pomona’s Luke Garciduenas has earned this week’s CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Garciduenas posted two clean sheets to lead the No. 10 Broncos to two wins over visitors from Colorado. He totaled five saves in the teams’ 2-0 and 3-0 wins over MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines, respectively.

In the 20th minute against MSU Denver on Friday, Garciduenas made a heroic save on a penalty kick toward the bottom corner of the net that kept the visitors off the board. The junior goalkeeper from Pomona, who has guarded in the net in all 450 minutes, now has four shutouts in five matches.
