Cal State LA's Emily Elliott claims CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week award

Cal State LA’s Emily Elliott has been named the CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 9-15.

Elliott was named the MVP of the Central Washington Invitational after leading the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 record with wins over Simon Fraser, Western Washington and Central Washington. The senior from Costa Mesa, Calif., had 73 kills in the three matches in 13 sets (5.6 per set) and 89 points (6.8 per set). Elliottt also contributed 11 service aces, 10 blocks and 30 digs. 

In the tournament finale, Elliott posted a weekend-best 29 kills and 15 digs against host Central Washington. She added three blocks, three aces and four assists. 

Elliott leads NCAA Div. II with 13.72 attacks per set and ranks third with 5.55 kills. She is also second in points (6.45) and aces (0.59). Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard.

Cal State LA will go on the road this week to begin conference play. It will open at Sonoma State on Thursday (Sept. 19) and close at Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday (Sept. 21).
