For the first time, a pair of student-athletes have been named CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, as twin sisters Della and Iresh Molina will share the award.

Della and Iresh held hands and crossed the finish line together at the Kim Duyst Twlight Invitational on Saturday. The Molina sister finished in 20:38.1 to lead six Wildcats in the top nine in the 6K race held at Cere’s River Oaks Golf Course.

Della set a new personal best time, beating her previous best set at the 2023 NCAA Championships. Iresh’s time was two seconds off her PR, which was posted at the 2023 nationals.

The 11th-ranked Chico State team was victorious at the Invitational, finishing ahead of host Stanislaus State, 21-39, in the team standings.

Chico State travels to Bellingham, Wash., on Sept. 28 for the Bill Roe Classic hosted by Western Washington.
