Cal Poly Pomona’s Marisa Salazar is off to a roaring start as she has been tabbed as the season’s first CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Salazar accounted for all three Broncos goals as Cal Poly Pomona opened the season 2-0 with wins over SoCal foes Vanguard and Biola. The junior midfielder from Long Beach netted the lone goal in the season-opening 1-0 win over Vanguard last Thursday. She then scored twice in the 2-0 win over Biola on Saturday.

Salazar is the only women’s soccer player in the CCAA with multiple goals during the opening weekend.

Cal Poly Pomona will host defending national champion and No. 1 ranked Point Loma on Thursday in Pomona.
