Chris Chomyn of Stanislaus State wins this week’s CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week

Stanislaus State’s Chris Chomyn earns CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week after a second place finish at the Hot Dirt Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz., last weekend.

Chomyn posted an impressive 6-under 138, just two strokes behind the individual medalist and three strokes ahead of the third place finishers. 

The senior from Irvine had a strong start to the 36-hole tournament going 5-under 67 in the first round. He finished 1-under 71 in the second round to clinch the tie for second place. This is Chomyn’s fourth top-10 finish in the 2023-24 season.

Stanislaus State tied for 6th in the tournament, marking their eighth top-10 finish of the 2023-24 season.

This is Chomyn’s second CCAA Golfer of the Week award. He has both of Stanislaus State’s Men's Golfer of the Week awards this season. 

Stanislaus State makes its next appearance at the CCAA Men’s Golf Championships in Santa Rosa from April 22-24.
