Cal State East Bay’s Julika Grosspietsch wins this week’s CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award

Julika Grosspietsch of Cal State East Bay secured this week’s CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award after placing second at the Poppy Hills Patriot Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Grosspietsch finished the 54-hole tournament at 5-over 218. She finished just nine strokes behind the individual medalist and two strokes ahead of the third-place finishers. 

The senior from Dresden, Germany collected two birdies in the first round, followed by three in the second round, and two in the third round. She finished the tournament with seven total birdies, 35 pars, and 12 bogeys. 

The Pioneers finished fourth in the tournament, their seventh top-five finish this 2023-24 season.

This is Grosspietsch’s fourth top-10 finish of the season and her first CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week Award.

Cal State East Bay is back in action at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite in Tucson, Arizona in just under two weeks (April 1-2).
