SF State's Alexsandra Alvarado puts up 42 points to earn CCAA Player of the Week Award Mar 2, 2024 | By: Glory Smith, Athletic Leadership Development Intern Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Alexsandra Alvarado of San Francisco State has been named the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 26- Mar.1. On Thursday, Alvarado put up 42 points in the Gators’ final game of the season. With just under two minutes left in the game, she broke the San Francisco State single game scoring record. She is the first Gator to score over 30 points in a game since 2017. The sophomore guard from Richmond, Calif. also had four rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block in the game against the Pioneers. Alvarado’s 42 point game ties CSUDH’s Nala Williams for the most points scored in a single game this season. Alvarado is third in scoring in the CCAA (16.5), 15th in field goal percentage (.378), ninth in assists (3.0), and 10th in steals (1.9). She is also sixth in free throw percentage (.798), 14th in 3-point field goals per game (1.5), and eighth in assist/turnover ratio (1.1).
