Record-Setting 2023 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll Announced

After an outstanding fall on the course, field and court, California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) student-athletes proved they can take care of business in the classroom as well as a record 551 men and women across the CCAA's 12 member institutions have been honored.

Cal State Monterey Bay had the most student-athletes recognized with 65 honored. Cal Poly Pomona was second with 53 honorees while Cal State San Marcos also had an impressive 50 student-athletes honored.

Volleyball paced the way among the sports with 197 total selections, followed by women's soccer with 153 and men's soccer with 110. Women's cross country had 49 earn honors while men's cross country had 42 recognized.

There were 240 repeat winners, with 44 receiving their third-honor and 22 becoming four-time honorees. Cal State LA men's soccer player Carl Solli, a senior majoring in computer science, earned honors for his fifth-straight year.

The CCAA recognizes individuals academically per season – fall, winter and spring – for all CCAA-sponsored sports. The CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll consists of eligible student-athletes who compete in the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball. The Winter Academic Honor Roll will honor men's and women's basketball players, with the Spring Academic Honor Roll consisting of student-athletes from men's and women's golf, men's and women's track and field, softball, and baseball. The remainder of the seasonal academic selections will be announced at the conclusion of the spring term after grades are finalized.
 
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be of sophomore standing athletically at the start of the playing season and may include graduate students, shall have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.3, and shall have competed in the sport in that season.
