Patrick Jaksch of Cal State San Marcos earned the CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week award after a top-five finish at the Pioneer Shootout.
Jaksch tied for fourth place after 54 holes at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, going 7-under 209. He boasts the best score in the tournament on par-4s at five-under. Jaksch also earned the highest place amongst all CCAA golfers in this tournament, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
The junior out of Vista, Calif., had 13 birdies and two eagles over 36 holes. He had 34 pars with eight bogeys and one double bogey. In round three, Jaksch collected an eagle, birdie, and two pars to post 2-under 70 and secure fourth place alongside fellow CCAA golfer, Tyler Ashman of Chico State. Jaksch had the better final round score with a 70, three strokes better than Ashman.
This is Jaksch’s second top-five finish in his career, following his first collegiate tournament victory just last week. This is also his second CCAA Golfer of the Week Award.
Cal State San Marcos travels north and competes in the Hanny Invitational in Turlock, Calif., in just under two weeks. (March 25-26)
