Toros’ Jeremy Dent-Smith wins back-to-back CCAA Player of the Week Awards Feb 6, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> The defending D2CIDA National Player of the Week, Jeremy Dent-Smith, has been voted the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week (Jan. 29-Feb. 4). Dent-Smith averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills to a pair of road wins and open up a two-game lead in the CCAA standings. The Toros have now won nine straight. He shot .578 percent from the field and .454 percent from 3-point range. On Thursday against Cal State Monterey Bay, the Hawthorne native scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists. He followed it up with a 25-point, 6-assist effort at Stanislaus State. Dent-Smith now leads the CCAA with 16.8 points per game and is seventh with a .451 field goal percentage. The sophomore has won three of the 12 CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards handed out in 2023-24. He is one of only three to earn multiple selections.
