Toros’ Jeremy Dent-Smith wins back-to-back CCAA Player of the Week Awards

The defending D2CIDA National Player of the Week, Jeremy Dent-Smith, has been voted the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week (Jan. 29-Feb. 4).

Dent-Smith averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills to a pair of road wins and open up a two-game lead in the CCAA standings. The Toros have now won nine straight. He shot .578 percent from the field and .454 percent from 3-point range. 

On Thursday against Cal State Monterey Bay, the Hawthorne native scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists. He followed it up with a 25-point, 6-assist effort at Stanislaus State. 

Dent-Smith now leads the CCAA with 16.8 points per game and is seventh with a .451 field goal percentage. He is also fifth in free throw percentage (.792) and 3-pointers per game (1.95). Click here to see the CCAA leaderboard.

Cal State Dominguez Hills will return home to host Cal State East Bay (Feb. 8) and San Francisco State (Feb. 10).
