Destiny Jackson of Cal State San Bernardino takes home her third career CCAA Player of the Week award

Destiny Jackson of Cal State San Bernardino has been named the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 19- Feb. 25. 

Jackson put up 53 points over the weekend, helping the Coyotes earn two home wins. Those two wins allowed CSUSB to clinch its first playoff berth since 2017. Against Stanislaus State on Thursday, she posted 22 points with a .625 field goal percentage. On Saturday, at Cal State Monterey Bay, she collected 31 points, including going 12-of-15 from the line. 

The senior guard from Hayward, Calif., had 10 steals over the weekend, with eight coming on Saturday against the Otters. She also had four assists and 13 total rebounds. She set a new personal best in free throws made in a single game (12), steals (8), and points (31) on Saturday against the Otters. 

Jackson is fourth in the CCAA for scoring (16.3), 22nd in rebounding (5.4), fifth in field goal percentage (.473), and 16th in assists (2.4). She also ranks 17th in free throw percentage (.648), fourth in steals (2.5), and seventh in minutes (32.8). Click here to see the CCAA leaderboard.
