Nala Williams of CSUDH breaks a 42-year school record to earn CCAA Player of the Week Feb 13, 2024 | By: Glory Smith, Athletic Leadership Development Intern Share: Cal State Dominguez Hills' Nala Williams has been named the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 5-Feb. 11. Williams posted a total of 57 points against Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State, contributing to a set of home wins for the Toros. On Thursday, against the Pioneers, she collected the fifth double-double of her career with 42 points and 10 rebounds. The 42 points mark a new record at Cal State Dominguez Hills for points scored in a single game. On Saturday, Williams scored 15 points and was perfect from the free-throw line to help the Toros get the win over the Gators. The sophomore guard from Long Beach forced Cal State East Bay into overtime when she scored a clutch 3-pointer with two seconds left on the clock. She had 4 points and a rebound in the first overtime to help the Toros defeat East Bay 88-83. Williams had a total of 17 rebounds and six assists on the weekend. She was also 18 for 36 from the field (.500). This is her third CCAA Player of the Week award, all of which were earned this season. Click here to see the complete list of weekly winners. Cal State Dominguez Hills (12-11, 9-8 CCAA) plays two more home games this weekend against Cal State San Marcos (Thursday) and Sonoma State (Saturday).
