Jeremy Dent-Smith’s 27-point half lifts him to FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week honors Dec 3, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Jeremy Dent-Smith has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 25-Dec. 1. Dent-Smith led the Toros to two road wins last week over Cal State LA and Fresno Pacific. The reigning CCAA Player of the Year averaged 24.0 points per game on .529 percent shooting. In the CCAA opener vs the Golden Eagles, Dent-Smith scored 29 points (11-21 FG, 7-10 FT, six rebounds, one assist) in 29 minutes of play, with 27 of them coming in the second half. The Toros rallied behind Dent-Smith's 27-point eruption in the second half, as he completely took over the game and allowed the Toros to pull away from the Golden Eagles to start conference play 1-0. Earlier in the week, Dent-Smith totaled 19 points (7-13 FG, 4-9 3pt, 1-1 FT, four assists, three rebounds, two steals) in 29 minutes of play in a 25-point win at Fresno Pacific.
