#6 Cal State East Bay 1, #3 Chico State 0
Yuto Hatayama's strike from 30 yards out will live in Cal State East Bay men's soccer postseason lore as it gave the Pioneers the program's first CCAA Tournament win a 1-0 win at No. 3 seed Chico State.

With just over two minutes remaining in the first half, Cal State East Bay's Aaron Farhan worked the ball across the field before finding Hatayama open in space. He took two touches to the right to get a little more room before sending a direct shot into the top right of the net. It was Hatayama's second goal of the season.

The Pioneers' defense and goalkeeper Adan Corona made that goal hold up as they allowed Chico to take just two shots the rest of the way. The only shot on goal the Wildcats had was in the 84th minute by Justin Ricketts. Chico's goalkeeper Emanuel Padilla finished with two saves.

Cal State East Bay will advance to the semifinals of the 2024 CCAA Men's Soccer Tournament presented by FloCollege. The match will be played at the home of Cal State East Bay in Hayward beginning on Friday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.
