Chico State’s Travis Miller wins second consecutive CCAA Golfer of the Week award

Chico State’s Travis Miller has been named the CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week. 

Miller shot a 203 (-13) to win the Wildcat Classic at The Links at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort in Corning, Calif. The senior led the tournament in par-3 (-2) and par-5 (-11) scoring while registering a tournament-best 19 birdies. 

He seized the lead in the first round with a tournament-low 66 (-6). He went 2-under (70) in the second round and fell one stroke off the pace after day 1. However, Miller came through with a 67 (-5) in the final round on Tuesday to jump into first place and win the tournament by three strokes. The team placed second with a 21-under 843. 

Miller is the first Chico State student-athlete to win consecutive CCAA Golfer of the Week honors since Josh McCollum in 2018-19. Click here to see a complete list of weekly winners.

Next week, Chico State will travel to Seaside, Calif., to play in the Otter Invitational on Oct. 14-15.
