Alyssa Villalobos of Cal State Dominguez Hills has been named the CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the first hat trick in the CCAA.
Villalobos scored three times in a game for a hat trick at Stanislaus State leading the Toros to a dominating 5-2 road victory in Turlock. CSUDH opened conference play on the road with a 1-0-1 mark after tying Chico State 1-1.
The senior forward from Lakewood needed just two minutes into the match to score her first goal, giving the Toros an early 1-0 lead. With the score at 3-2 advantage CSUDH, Villalobos put the match away for a pair of late scores (at 78th and 88th minutes). In all, she played in just 65 minutes and took four shots. She then played in 37 minutes and took just one shot in the 1-1 draw at Chico State on Sunday.
Villalobos netted the season’s first hat trick in the CCAA. With two assists entering the weekend she is now seventh in the CCAA with eight points.
