For the second time this season, Sonoma State’s Constance O’Neal has been named the CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award.

O’Neal was the winner of the College Green 6K at the prestigious Paul Short Run at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn. The Seawolf clocked in at personal best 21:31.4 in the division that featured mostly Division II and III runners. She bested the second place finisher (Claire Anderson of Washington & Jefferson) by 19 seconds.

The sophomore from Auburn, Calif., led Sonoma State to a team win in the Green race as well. Paul Short Run featured nearly 1,300 student-athletes from 155 institutions from all levels of the NCAA running in five different races.

O’Neal has won two of three races she competed in, including the season opener at the SSU Seawolf Invite in Fresno. She captured the CCAA Runner of the Week award after that victory.

Sonoma State will take the rest of the month off until the CCAA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 25 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
