Hugo Vargas-Rios of Cal State Monterey Bay has been selected as FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after netting three goals.

Vargas-Rios scored three times to help the Otters to an undefeated road trip with wins at Sonoma State and Cal Poly Humboldt. At Sonoma State, his goal was the lone goal of the match in the 1-0 win on Friday. On Sunday, Vargas-Rios recorded a brace, scoring the first two goals in the 3-1 win at Humboldt. He knocked in both game-winning goals.

The senior forward from Watsonville leads CSUMB with 10 points on four goals and two assists during conference play. He is third in the CCAA with 1.50 shots on goal per match and is seventh in scoring with 13 points. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

Cal State Monterey Bay (4-2-2 CCAA, 7-3-4 overall) has won three straight and moved up to a tie for third place in the CCAA standings, just two points behind leaders Cal State LA and Cal State Dominguez Hills. CSUMB hosts the two leaders this week in Seaside.
