Aliah Avila of Stanislaus State snags FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor

Aliah Avila of Stanislaus State has been voted as this week’s FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 21-27.

Avila is the second Warrior to win this award in as many weeks after scoring a goal in each of Stan State’s 2-0 victories over Cal State San Bernardino and No. 4 Cal Poly Pomona. She scored first in both matches, crediting her with both game-winning goals. The goal against CPP was a penalty kick score in the 16th minute, helping the Warriors to the upset win over the Broncos.

The sophomore forward from Madera leads the Warriors with six goals this season. She ranks second in the CCAA in scoring with 15 points and six goals. She shares the conference lead with Vanessa Cruz of Cal Poly Pomona with five game-winning goals. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

Stanislaus State (7-5-2, 4-3-0 CCAA) has won four straight matches via shutouts and has out-scored opponents 10-0 to surge up to fourth place in the CCAA. The Warriors will hit the road to face Cal State San Marcos (Friday) and Cal State East Bay (Sunday).
