Emily Elliott wins FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week as she closes in on conference kills record

Cal State LA’s Emily Elliott was named the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 14-20. 

The senior from Costa Mesa averaged 6.13 kills and 7.13 points per set to lead the No. 21 ranked Golden Eagles (12-5, 7-3 CCAA) to a pair of wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills. Elliott totaled 49 kills, 11 digs, eight blocks, and three aces over eight sets. The 49 kills brought Elliott within 67 of the CCAA’s all-time career record (1,843).

In the opening match, Elliott had 18 kills to go along with two blocks and two aces in a three-set sweep. Then in a five-set grind on Saturday, Elliott registered 31 kills with a .316 hitting percentage. It was the third time she registered over 30 kills in a match this season. Elliott also added seven digs and six blocks. 

The weekend’s performance moved Elliott to the No. 1 spot in the nation in kills at 5.48 per set. She also leads NCAA Division II with 6.39 points per set. Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard
