Leila Peregrina of CSUSB is the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Cal State San Bernardino’s Leila Peregrina has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 14-20.

Peregrina led the Coyotes to a 1-0-1 record and allowed just a penalty kick goal against Cal State Dominguez Hills in a 1-1 draw. The senior goalkeeper from Chino picked up seven saves and shutout Cal State LA, 1-0, on Sunday. She helped CSUSB move into second place in the CCAA standings.

With six shutouts this season, Peregrina ranks second in the CCAA while leading the conference with 51 saves. Her 4.25 saves per game average is second best and her .917 goals-against-average is at No. 5. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

Peregrina is the second Coyote to ever win the CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award (Carly Luna, Sept. 20, 2022).
