Cal Poly Pomona's Samantha Campion wins FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week Oct 15, 2024 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Samantha Campion of Cal Poly Pomona has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7-13). Campion was perfect on defense this week, pacing the No. 8 Broncos with 32 digs (5.33 per set) and 34 receptions with no errors. She led CPP to two sweeps on the week, extending the Broncos win streak to 10 straight matches (8-0 in conference play). Campion recorded a double-double on Saturday, her seventh of the season, and now has 10 or more digs in nine matches. She finished the weekend with 20 kills (3.33 per set), four blocks, and a service ace. The native of Mission Viejo now ranks in the top 10 in the CCAA in digs per set (3.52) and 12th in kills per set (3.02). Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard. This is Campion's second career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award. She won her first Defensive Player of the Week award in the third week of the 2022 season. CCAA volleyball teams reach the halfway point of the conference schedule this week (18-match CCAA schedule) and will play a home and away match against the same team.
