Carson Thomson-Terrel of Cal Poly Humboldt is Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

With a pair of shutouts, Carson Thomson-Terrel of Cal Poly Humboldt has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Thomson-Terrel turned in two clean sheets against two of the top three teams in the CCAA, resulting in two wins on the road. She faced 31 total shots and recorded nine saves in the two 1-0 victories.

The junior goalkeeper from Kelso, Wash., was the staple of the defense that handed No. 25 Cal State LA its first loss with six saves on Sunday. Thomson-Terrel had three saves two days earlier at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Thomson-Terrel ranks fifth in the CCAA in saves (33) and is second in saves per game (4.13). Her 1.125 Goals Against Average is sixth best in the conference.  Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

Cal Poly Humboldt travels to face Stanislaus State Thursday night before returning to host Chico State on Sunday.
