Cal Poly Pomona’s Woody Angell claims CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor

Cal Poly Pomona’s Woody Angell has claimed this week’s CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award after netting a pair of goals.

Angell opened the Broncos scoring in the 30th minute in Wednesday’s 6-1 rout over Concordia Irvine. The junior midfielder then scored the team’s first goal, an equalizer, in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Cal State San Bernardino.

In all, Angell took six shots and now leads the team with five goals. He shares the CCAA lead with goals scored, game-winning goals (3) and is third with 10 points. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

This is Angell’s second career CCAA Player of the Week award. He scored two goals and assisted on two more in a 8-0 win over Stanislaus State last October to pick up the honor on Oct. 10, 2023.

The 7th ranked Broncos improved to 5-1-1 and will host San Francisco State Friday night in a CCAA opener.
