Charity Gallegos posted 37 points to earn this week’s CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award.
Gallegos scored 16 points on Thursday in an important win over Stanislaus State, who was previously undefeated in conference play. On Saturday, Gallegos contributed 21 points against Cal State Monterey Bay to help the Cougars take hold of first place in the CCAA standings.
The junior guard from Sacramento made 11-of-21 attempts from the floor and scored six 3-pointers on the weekend. The game on Saturday against the Otters marked her fourth 20-point performance in the last five games.
Gallegos boasts top-10 spots in scoring (fifth, 15.6 ppg), field goal percentage (fifth, .437), 3-point field goal percentage (third, .388) , 3-point field goals per game (second, 2.75), and assist-to-turnover ratio (seventh, 1.50) in the CCAA. This is her third CCAA player of the week, her first two coming her freshman year at Chico State.

Cal State San Marcos (9-3, 6-1 CCAA), on a three-game win streak, takes a short trip to Cal State San Bernardino (Thursday) and Cal Poly Pomona (Saturday) for two more conference games this weekend.
