AUGUSTA, GA -- Nala Williams of Cal State Dominguez Hills was named the D2CIDA women's basketball Division II Player of the Week on Wednesday. The sophomore guard from Long Beach, Ca., scored a career-high 27 points in leading the Toros to an 81-60 win over Cal State LA.
Williams hit 11 of 24 shots from the floor and three three-pointers to go with 11 rebounds, tying a career best. She missed a triple-double by only two steals as she had eight in the game, the most in a single game in the CCAA this season. The double-double is the third of her career, she also had four assists and a block in the game.
Williams leads the team with 16.3 points per game and 4.0 assists per game and is second in rebounding with seven per game.
