Nala Williams of CSUDH wins her second CCAA Player of the Week award of the season Jan 23, 2024 | By: Glory Smith, Athletic Leadership Development Intern Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Nala Williams posted 44 points to earn this week’s CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award. Williams put together a career high 31-point game against Cal Poly Humboldt and had a double-double against Chico State. On Thursday, she scored a clutch three-pointer to take the Toros into overtime and eventually earn the win over the Lumberjacks. Her double-double performance on Saturday included 13 points with 11 rebounds to help Dominguez Hills earn their second win of the weekend. The sophomore from Long Beach went 16 for 26 from the floor and had nine total assists. Her double-double against the Wildcats marks the fourth of her career. Williams is 10th in scoring in the CCAA (13.3), 12th in field goal percentage (.392) and 3-point field goals per game (1.7), seventh in assists (3.2), third in assist to turnover ratio (1.6), and third in steals (2.6). Cal State Dominguez Hills (9-8, 6-5 CCAA) hopes to increase their win streak to five games as they take a short trip to Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday and then head to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday.
