Nala Williams of CSUDH posted three career highs to earn CCAA Player of the Week award

Nala Williams of Cal State Dominguez Hills posted three career highs to earn 2024’s first CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award.

Williams scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Toros to a dominant victory over Cal State LA, 81-60, on Saturday. She also grabbed 11 rebounds, which tied a career-high. Of her 11 boards, six were on offense.

The sophomore guard from Long Beach made 11 of 24 attempts from the floor and made three three-pointers in helping CSUDH rallied from trailing after one quarter. Williams also had a career-best eight steals to go with four assists and one blocked shot.

The 27-point, 11-rebound performance was her third double-double of her career.

Cal State Dominguez Hills, winner of three straight, improved to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in CCAA play. The Toros host Cal State San Bernardino (Thursday) and Cal Poly Pomona (Saturday) this week.
