Jeff Kettering Stan State's Gabby Rawson voted CCAA Defensive Player of the Week Sep 5, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Stanislaus State’s Gabby Rawson was voted the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3. The senior picked up right where she left off last season when she was named the 2022 CCAA Libero of the Year. Rawson registered 80 digs over 14 sets, averaging 5.71 digs per set, a half-dig more than any other student-athlete. Rawson posted two 20-dig performances, with both occurring in three-set matches. She posted a season-high 24 digs against Western New Mexico in a sweep and added 20 more against Fresno Pacific. Rawson also had 15 assists and three aces. Her efforts helped Stan State hold opponents to a CCAA-best .138 hitting percentage and begin the season at 3-1. This is the third career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award for Rawson, who received the honor twice during the 2022 season. Click here to see a complete list of CCAA weekly award winners. Stanislaus State will travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, to participate in the Denall State Bank Ice Block Classic starting on Thursday, Sept. 7. They will play four matches, including against No. 14 Alaska Anchorage.
