Stanislaus State’s Holly Little has been selected as the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, for the opening weekend of the 2023 season.

Little led the No. 9 ranked Stan State Warriors to a solid eighth place team finish at the USF Invitational, featuring 10 Division I programs in the 13-team field. The Warriors were the top non-Division I finishers. Stanford won the event with five runners in the top eight.

Little, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, paced the Warriors with a time of 21:53.2 in the 6K race at Golden Gate Park. She placed 29th and was second fastest Division II runner behind Academy of Art’s Grace Southern (21:50.8), an all-region distance runner in track and field last spring. Little, a transfer from Saint Leo University, posted a CCAA-weekend-best average mile time of 5:52.1, the only sub 6-minute time posted in the conference.

Stanislaus State will host the annual Kim Duyst Twilight Meet at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres this Saturday evening.
