Jeff Kettering Stan State's Gabby Rawson garners third Defensive Player of the Week award of 2023 Sep 26, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> For the third time in four weeks, Stanislaus State’s Gabby Rawson has been voted the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 18-24). Rawson tied the 2023 CCAA season-high with 30 digs in a five-set match against Cal Poly Humboldt. She followed it up with a 17-dig performance against Sonoma State. Rawson helped lead a Warriors’ defense that held Sonoma to its second-lowest hitting percentage on the season (.132) as Stan State swept the Seawolves. She totaled 47 digs, 10 assists, and four aces for the weekend. The Rancho Cucamonga native leads the CCAA and ranks sixth in NCAA Div. II with 5.89 digs per set. Rawson has recorded at least 17 digs in each match this season (12 total). Click here to see the CCAA leaders.
