Cal Poly Pomona's Caitie Mueller collects another Volleyball Setter of the Week award

Cal Poly Pomona’s Caitie Mueller has been named the CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week of Sept. 18-24. 

Mueller led Cal Poly Pomona to a pair of home victories as the Broncos remain the only unbeaten team in CCAA play after two weeks. The junior from San Clemente averaged 10 assists and 13 points per set as CPP extended its home winning streak to nine matches (dating back to last year). Mueller finished the weekend with 60 assists, 18 digs, six kills, and five aces. 

In the showdown of top 25 teams, Mueller led the No. 18 Broncos to a sweep over No. 23 Cal State LA. In the three sets, Mueller dished out 29 assists and posted two aces. On Saturday, against Cal State Dominguez Hills, which started CCAA play at 3-0, Mueller put down five kills and three aces to go along with 31 assists. She hit .571 in the match as five of her seven attempts found the floor. 

The 2022 CCAA Newcomer of the Year paces the CCAA and ranks 17th in NCAA Div. II with 10.55 assists per set. She has posted at least 30 assists in 10 of 12 matches, including a season-best 49 against Cal State East Bay. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats

Cal Poly Pomona will continue its homestand this week. The Broncos will welcome Stanislaus State on Friday (Sept. 29) and Chico State on Saturday (Sept. 30).
