Tyler Tipton of Stanislaus State has been named Pixellot/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 18-24, after a three-goal week.
Tipton, the CCAA’s leading scorer, netted three goals in two matches to lead the Warriors to a 1-1 non-conference week. The sophomore forward from Sonora is currently the conference’s top score with six goals and 14 points. He also leads with 15 shots on goal and 2.14 shots on goal per game.
In Tuesday’s 3-1 match win over Art U, Tipton converted on a penalty kick to even the score at 1-1. He eventually scored the game-sealer goal in the 82nd minute for the brace against the Urban Knights. Versus No. 5 Chico State, Tipton tied the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 27th minute. It was the first goal allowed by the Wildcats this season in seven matches.
Stanislaus State (3-4-0) hosts Cal State San Marcos (Friday) and Cal State East Bay (Sunday) to begin CCAA play this week.
