Riley Beyma becomes first Seawolf to win CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week Sep 19, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Sonoma State’s Riley Beyma was named the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 11-17. The junior defensive specialist recorded 36 digs over seven sets (5.14 digs/set) to help lead the Seawolves (7-2) to a 2-0 start in conference play. Against No. 10 Cal State San Bernardino, Beyma averaged 5.67 digs per set as the Seawolves pulled off the upset with a three-set sweep. She helped lead a defensive effort that held CSUSB over 50 points below their season hitting percentage (.280 vs. .228). On Saturday, she was one dig short of matching a season-best with 19 in a win over San Francisco State. This is Beyma’s first career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award.
