Stan State's Gabby Rawson repeats as CCAA Defensive Player of the Week

Stanislaus State’s Gabby Rawson was voted the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. (Sept. 4-10)

Rawson recorded 90 digs over 15 sets to help Stanislaus State earn a pair of wins in Alaska, including a comeback victory over No. 21 Alaska Anchorage. She averaged 6.0 digs per set and had at least 17 digs in each match. She registered a season-high 29 digs in the tournament finale against Alaska Fairbanks. The Rancho Cucamonga native added 22 assists, two kills, and a service ace. 

The junior now has three of the top 7 dig performances in the CCAA this season and is the only student-athlete to post two matches with 25 or more digs. She leads the conference with 6.07 digs per set, nearly two more than second place (4.23). CCAA leaders

Stanislaus State will be on the road to begin conference play this week. The Warriors will face Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday and Cal State LA on Saturday.
