Emma Hofmann recorded two shutouts to lead Chico State to two victories as she’s been named the Pixellot/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Hofmann picked up 12 saves with the two clean sheets as Chico State defeated Central Washington, 3-0, and Seattle Pacific, 1-0, in Chico. Hofmann had six saves in each contest, including six solid saves to keep the SPU Falcons, GNAC’s second best team in the preseason poll, off the board.

She currently leads the CCAA with 24 saves and is third with a .828 saves percentage. The junior goalkeeper from Folsom now has 14 career shutouts. This is Hofmann’s third career CCAA Player of the Week award.

Chico State (3-1) will face two PacWest opponents on the road this week, with matches at Azusa Pacific and Biola.
