Stanislaus State’s Nate Jetton wins second Men’s Golfer of the Week award

Nate Jetton placed third at the Stanislaus Hanny Invitational to be named as the Men’s Golfer of the Week, for the week of March 22-28.

Jetton shot an even par 216 score to finish in a three-way tie for third at the Warriors’ own annual event at the Turlock Golf and Country Club. Stanislaus State was sixth out of 16 teams.

The sophomore from El Dorado scored 71-72-73 in the two-day, three-round tournament to finish at even 216 with Holy Names’ Edvin Backstrom and Conrad Brown of Western Washington. The trio were two shots back of medalist Jordan Lee of WWU.

Jetton recorded an eagle, 11 birdies and 29 pars in the tournament. He shot a three on the par 5 No. 13 in Monday afternoon’s second round. 

On Oct. 19, Jetton received the weekly award after winning the Dennis Rose Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii, and tied for sixth at the HPU Shark Shootout in Wahiawa, Hawaii.

Stanislaus State will play at the Regional Preview, April 10-11, in Rohnert Park before the CCAA Men’s Golf Championships, April 17-19, at Victoria Club in Riverside.
