Two CCAA golfers were atop of the leaderboard at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout before the final round was canceled as both individuals will receive the honor as CCAA Co-Golfer of the Week.

Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Andy Yoon and Greg Mouser of Cal State San Marcos will share the award as they both tied for first after two rounds of play in Alameda. The event, hosted by Cal State East Bay at the Corcia Golf Complex, was called on Tuesday due to high winds.

Both Yoon and Mouser shot identical scores of 69-67 for 136 on Monday, tying Holy Names’ Luke Dugger at the top of the leaderboard. Yoon was declared the tournament’s individual medalist by having the best back-9 score in the second round with a six-under.

Mouser and the CSUSM Cougars won the team competition with a -10 under 566 total, three strokes better than Simon Fraser. CSUSM has finished first in three tournaments this 2022-23 season.

In the 36-hole event, Yoon, a sophomore from Cypress, marked 13 birdies with an eagle on the par 4 No. 13 in the second round. Mouser shot 12 birdies during Monday’s two rounds.

This was the second golfer of the week award for both Yoon and Mouser this season. Yoon earned the weekly award in the fall (Sept. 28) and Mouser had a share of the honor Feb. 15 with CSUSB’s Jacob Calderon.

Both CSUDH and CSUSM will next compete in the Stanislaus Hanny Invitational, March 27-28, in Turlock.
