No. 2 seed Cal State San Bernardino is advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA West Regional after a 63-57 win over No. 7 seed Montana State Billings.
 
Darius Mickens' double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds led the Yotes in both categories. Fellow starters Dontrell Shuler and Eddie Davis joined Mickens in double-figures with 10 and 11 points, respectively. Kaijae Yee-Stephens came off the bench in the first half and knocked down four 3-pointers to score all 12 of his points before halftime.
 
CSUSB opened the game by building a 30-15 lead. The Yotes used a 16-3 run to push their advantage from two points (14-12) to 15 (30-15). In this four-minute stretch, Yee-Stephens hit all four of his 3-pointers and grabbed three rebounds.
 
MSUB chipped away and cut the deficit to two at the half (33-31). In the second half, the Yellowjackets cut the deficit to a single possession on multiple occasions, but they were unable to get the basket needed to take the lead. A Carrington Wiggins jumper with 5:29 remaining cut the Yotes' lead to 51-49. CSUSB responded with an 8-0 run in the next two minutes, and the Yellowjackets would not get closer than six points the rest of the way.
 
Bilal Shabazz paced MSU Billings with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Yotes held the GNAC Player of the Year, Carrington Wiggins, to 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting.
 
Cal State San Bernardino will play Cal State San Marcos in the NCAA Regional semifinal on Saturday, Mar. 11, at 5 p.m.
