Leading her team to a pair of wins, Cal State East Bay’s Delia Moore has snagged this week’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award, for the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

Moore scored a career-high 28 points in Saturday’s 59-58 win over CSUSB. The senior guard from Merced scored the game-winning layup with 1.5 seconds left to help the Pioneers to the weekend sweep. Two days earlier, on Thursday, Moore had 16 points in East Bay’s win over Cal Poly Pomona. The win over CPP snapped CSUEB’s four-game losing skid.

For the weekend, Moore averaged 22 points, three rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals per game. She shot 45 percent from the field, going 14-for-31. It was Moore’s fifth consecutive double-digit scoring game and the second time she reached 20 or more points.

Moore is one of the more accurate shooters in the CCAA. Her .436 field goal percentage is seventh best in the league while her .750 free throw percentage is fifth best.

Cal State East Bay hopes to continue its win-streak with a pair of road games this week. The Pioneers visit Cal Poly Humboldt (Thursday) and Sonoma State (Saturday).
