Pioneers' Dimitrios Klonaras earns CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Cal State East Bay’s Dimitrios Klonaras has been declared the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3. 

Klonaras led the Pioneers to a pair of road wins to open CCAA play while averaging 20 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. 

The senior from Thessaloniki, Greece began the week with 18 points (7-of-14) and five rebounds at Stanislaus State. He also had three steals as CSUEB won 86-76.

On Saturday, in a hostile environment at the Kelp Bed in Monterey, Klonaras went 10-of-19 from the field. He scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to register his second double-double of the young season. He filled up the stat sheet by adding a block, three assists, and four steals.

Klonaras is second in the CCAA in scoring with 15.6 points per game. He is also seventh in rebounding (7.0) and eighth in field goal percentage (.472).

This is the first career Player of the Week award for Klonaras and the first for Cal State East Bay since 2021-22 when they won back-to-back weeks. 

Cal State East Bay will be on the road again this week. The Pioneers will travel to Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday and Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday.
