Cal Poly Pomona’s Bella Hara snags Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of Week award

Bella Hara of Cal Poly Pomona has been named the Pixellot/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 30- Nov. 2.

Hara played 90 minutes and recorded her sixth shutout for Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday against Cal State San Bernardino. She had two saves and helped the Broncos win their first CCAA Regular Season Title since 1999.

Hara played every minute of this season for the Broncos totalling 1,530 minutes. She is in the top 10 in the CCAA for her goals against average (.765), saves (34), and shutouts per game (.353). The junior from San Diego had a .723 saves percentage. 

This is Hara’s second career CCAA Player of the Week award. She is one of only two players to receive the Player of the Week award twice this season.

Cal Poly Pomona (8-2-1) earned a first round bye in the playoffs and will play in the semi-final on Friday, November 10th at 7 p.m. Their opponent will be determined on Sunday, November 5th in the match between Cal Poly Humboldt and Stanislaus State.
