Sonoma's Hallman captures her first CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award on her last opportunity Nov 14, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Sonoma State’s Leilani Hallman earned the final CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award for 2023. (Nov. 6-12) The senior middle blocker had a huge defensive weekend, finishing with 12 total blocks as the Seawolves locked down the No. 5 spot in the CCAA Tournament. She finished the weekend with 12 blocks and five digs to go along with nine kills. Against SF State, Hallman had eight blocks, six kills and four kills in the four-set defeat. On Saturday, SSU pulled off the improbable season sweep over Cal State San Bernardino, beating them for the third time this season. The Yotes were ranked No. 7 in the country entering the match, and Hallman added another four blocks and three kills to her stat line. Hallman completed the regular season ranks second in the conference with 101 blocks. Click here to see the CCAA leaders. This was the first career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award for Hallman.
