Destiny Jackson lead Coyotes to 2-0 start to earn CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor

Destiny Jackson was the leading scorer in both wins by Cal State San Bernardino, earning her the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week to start the season.

CSUSB started 2-0 for the first time since 2014-15 after wins over Concordia and Biola over the weekend. Jackson averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game to lead the Yotes. She shot 48 percent from the floor (12 for 25) and made 14 of her 20 free throws.

To start the season against Concordia, the senior guard from Hayward netted 26 points with eight rebounds to go with three assists and three steals. She scored three of her points late in overtime to help CSUSB secure the win. Against Biola, Jackson scored 13 points with seven boards as well as two assists and four steals.

Cal State San Bernardino will travel north to Fairbanks, Alaska this weekend to face University of Alaska and Multnomah.
