CCAA shutout leader Julian Aadlandsvik has been named the Pixellot/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, for the second time this season.
Aadlandsvik turned in two more clean sheets, on the road, last weekend while leading Cal State LA to another CCAA regular season championship. In the two matches, the sophomore goalkeeper from Oslo, Norway, picked up seven saves in 15 shots faced.
Against Sonoma State on Friday, Aadlandsvik earned three saves before turning away four shots on goals at Cal Poly Humboldt on Sunday. This season, Aadlandsvik has recorded a CCAA-best 12 shutouts and he leads NCAA Division II with a .920 saves percentage.
No. 4-ranked Cal State LA won the regular season title on Sunday in Arcata, the program’s third CCAA title in the past four seasons.
The Golden Eagles, who wrap up the schedule on Thursday at home against Cal State Dominguez Hills, will receive a first-round bye. Cal State LA advanced to the CCAA semifinal match on Friday, Nov. 10 in Arcata.
