Big blocks lead CPP's Kaitlan Tucker to Defensive Player of the Week honors Oct 3, 2023 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Kaitlan Tucker has been selected as the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1. Tucker helped lead the Broncos to a pair of home wins and stay atop the CCAA standings with a perfect 6-0 conference record. The Bakersfield native racked up 11 blocks over six sets to average 1.83 blocks. She added 10 kills and a .375 hitting percentage. The senior middle blocker opened the week with a seven-block effort against Stanislaus State in a Cal Poly Pomona sweep. She added four more and seven kills against Chico State on Saturday. Tucker now ranks 12th in the CCAA with 0.87 blocks per set and seventh with a .306 hitting percentage. Click here to see the CCAA leaders. The Broncos will put their undefeated CCAA record on the line this week when they travel to San Francisco State on Thursday (Oct. 5) and Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday (Oct. 7).
