Isabella Hara of Cal Poly Pomona snags Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of Week award

Isabella Hara for Cal Poly Pomona has been named the Pixellot/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25- Oct. 1.

Hara had five total saves against Cal Poly Humboldt and Sonoma State to earn two shutouts over the weekend. The junior from San Diego helped lead the Broncos to a 2-0 win over Humboldt on Friday, handing the Lumberjacks their first loss. On Sunday, Hara made three saves to preserve the 1-0 win over the Seawolves, marking her third shutout this season. 

She currently has 26 saves with a .788 saves percentage. Hara has played in every minute of the eight games that Pomona has competed in this season. 

This is Hara’s first career CCAA Player of the Week award and the first award for the Broncos since the 2022 season. 

Cal Poly Pomona (4-2-2) plays in its next conference match against Chico State on Friday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m.
