Madison Murr had quite a week in paradise. Murr put together the best four rounds of her collegiate career to win two tournaments in Hawai’i last week. With the amazing performance the Cal State San Marcos Cougar has earned the fall season’s final CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award.

Murr captured medalist honors at both the Southwest Airlines HPU Sharks Shootout and the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawai’i. The junior from Los Alamitos also led the No. 10-ranked Cal State San Marcos to two more team victories.

At the Sharks Shootout at Waikoloa Beach Resort Golf Club, Murr shot 3-under 137 (68-69) to win the tournament by five strokes in the event held last Monday and Tuesday. Then, at the Dennis Rose Invitational, on Thursday and Friday, at the Village Course at Waikoloa, Murr won by seven strokes with a spectacular -11 under par 133 that included a low round of 64 on Saturday. The 64 was achieved with eight birdies without a bogey all day. Both -11 under tournament total and the low round of 64 are CSUSM program records.

Cal State San Marcos won both events to remain perfect as the Cougars finished first in all four tournaments this fall season.

Murr now has won three tournaments in four outings this fall season. She was also the CCAA Golfer of the Week after winning the Sonoma State Fall Invitational on Oct. 3.
