CSUEB’s Mika Sayfurahman wins Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award

Mika Sayfurahman has been named Pixellot/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 16-22. 

Sayfurahman scored the game-winner against Cal Poly Humboldt on Friday and assisted East Bay’s second goal on Sunday against Sonoma State. The goal and assist contributed to two shutout wins for the Pioneers. 

Her goal on Friday was a penalty shot that she converted in the 56th minute to score the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Humboldt. On Sunday, the sophomore from Livermore took a freekick that was deflected by Sonoma State’s goalkeeper. The rebound landed at the foot of her teammate who put the ball away. This assist contributed to the 2-0 win over the Seawolves. 

Sayfurahman has a team-high five goals and 22 shots. She currently ranks in the top 10 in the CCAA for goals scored and in points. 

This is Sayfurahman’s first career CCAA Player of the Week award. This is the first Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award for Cal State East Bay since the 2021 season.

Cal State East Bay (4-3-1) plays in a decisive match against Cal Poly Pomona on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
